Amidst the dense forests of Meghalaya, the Double Decker Root Bridge is the biggest of all root bridges and is one of the pride of Cherrapunjee, while the Rainbow Falls, is one of the most beautiful waterfall in the state.The starting point of the trek is the Tyrna village from there one will have 1.5 hrs   walk down to the Nongriat Village and then a two hours walk up. The calm and serene beauty of the surrounding will surely move your soul.

Rainbow Falls

Later on you can extend your hike to Rainbow Falls (optional)-The most serene waterfalls in this area known as The Rainbow falls. The beauty of this fall makes it a must-stop destination in Cherrapunjee. With the sun's rays getting reflected on the water, you will be able to see small rainbows in that secluded deep forest. Wonderful as it sounds, it's absolutely wondrous to behold.

Mawlynnong is located around 80 km. from Cherrapunjee and is near to several picturesque villages. There are several unusual sights, such as the Living Roots Bridge and a magnificent boulder balanced on another rock.   
Mawlynnong has a reputation for being one of the cleanest cities in Asia, although God's Own Garden is a more true appellation.

Living Root Bridge

These live root bridges are a hallmark of Khasi traditional architecture and were necessary for towns in steep valleys and mountains, allowing people to connect and travel. The Indo-Bangladesh border may be seen from here and is indeed a delightful view.

Balancing Rock of Mawlynnong
