Day 18 : Kaziranga National Park - Elephant and Jeep Safari

Rise early at 6 AM to prepare for an exciting day in Kaziranga.

Elephant Safari 
Head to the riding point for the Kaziranga Elephant Safari in the Western Range (Bagori Range). The first safari departs at 6:30 AM. Enjoy a one- hour ride on a trained elephant, which can carry up to four guests at a time, accompanied by a mahout (elephant driver). 
Experience the thrill of viewing the One-Horned Rhino and, if you’re lucky, other wildlife such as hog deer, wild boar, and even tigers, all from a close distance.

Kaziranga Jeep Safari 
Post-lunch, embark on a Jeep safari in the Kaziranga Central Range (Kohra Range). This area is known for its rich biodiversity and is a prime zone for ecotourism. 
The entry gate to the Central Range is just 2 km from the highway. Look forward to spectacular sightings of rhinos, herds of elephants, and a variety of other wildlife amidst the stunning landscapes of the park.

Visit a Local Tea Garden 
On your way back from the Jeep safari, stop by a local tea garden. Experience the tea leaf collection process and capture some beautiful photographs amid the lush greenery.

Bihu Dance Show 
In the evening, consider arranging a Bihu Dance Show at the resort. Join in the festivities and dance along with the performers, immersing yourself in the local culture.

Day 19: Jorhat to Majuli Island

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we will depart for Jorhat. Our journey includes a scenic drive where we will cross the Namdang Stone Bridge, a remarkable structure carved from a single rock by King Rudra Singha in 1703. This historic bridge offers a glimpse into the architectural ingenuity of the time.

Upon reaching Nimati Ghat, we'll board a ferry to Majuli Island. This 1.5- hour boat ride on the Brahmaputra River is a delightful experience, with stunning views of the river and surrounding landscape. Majuli, known as the cultural capital of Assam, has been a cradle of Assamese civilization for over five centuries.

Once we arrive at Majuli, our first stop will be the Sri Sri Auniati Satra, founded by Niranjan Pathak Deva. Here, you can immerse yourself in the spiritual ambiance, witnessing the "Paalnaam" (monastery prayers) and traditional Apsara dances. The Satra is also famous for its collection of ancient Assamese artifacts, utensils, jewelry, and handicrafts.

Next, we will visit the Natun Samaguri Satra, another significant site in the Vaishnavism tradition of Assam. This Satra showcases the rich cultural heritage and the artistic expressions of the local community.

After exploring these culturally rich sites, we will return to our hotel for an overnight stay. Enjoy the evening at leisure, perhaps reflecting on the day's experiences in the serene surroundings of Majuli Island.
